Shopping, Savings and Sharing – A Big Win!

Our annual Spring shopping excursion was a great success – after all, when you’re saving money and enjoying sharing time with your colleagues, what more could you ask? Well, when you throw in champagne, snacks and saving money (did we say that already?), it’s even more special.

Denah and Carolyn

Chapter members and their guests met up at the Saks Off 5th outlet store in the Livermore Premium Outlets and were treated to welcoming snacks as they settled in to look at select Spring offerings.  Event Chair and Emcee Carolyn Rovner kicked off the event, along with Saks representative Denah Shane. Carolyn modeled her favorite seasonal selection, followed by Adena DiTonno, Carrie LaShell and Wendy Schindler.

Denah Shane explained how the store receives and prices it’s merchandise, along with some changes that are taking place nationwide (looks like Lord and Taylor is merging with Saks, for an even greater selection of merchandise!)  then Carolyn Rovner shared her favorite “outlet shopping tips” with the group. Everyone was eager to shop after the presentation to take advantage of special pricing the group was offered (including signing up for the special Saks outlet card – our clients will be glad to hear about this!)  The group adjourned for a relaxing dinner and social hour at a nearby restaurant, making for a perfect ending to a great shopping experience.  Thanks to Carolyn Rovner for putting this all together, and to the models and to all who attended and supported the event!

Shopping at the Premium Outlets for Spring

Saks off 5thWe always love our shopping excursions with Chapter members, and when it means scoring the best deals possible, that’s even better!  This Tuesday, March 18, our Chapter is being hosted by the Saks Off 5th outlet at the Livermore Premium Outlets.  Moderated by Chapter member, Carolyn Rovner, along with Saks representative, Denah Shane, we’ll have casual modeling of Spring outfits by Chapter members, along with special savings and values on designer merchandise.  If you haven’t registered yet, click here to sign up.

These are not your typical outlet stores. Livermore Premium Outlets are home to approximately 130 high-end retail stores in addition to Saks Off 5th. You may want to set aside the whole day to explore Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus Last Call and Bloomingdale’s, not to mention brands such as Prada, Armani, Burberry and more.  As we help our clients get their wardrobes in tip-top condition for Spring, it’s the perfect opportunity to scout out the merchandise and save them some big $$.  Livermore Premium Outlets are only 36 miles from San Francisco, so it’s a reasonable day trip for most of the Bay Area.  We’ll see you there!

Early-Bird Registration is Open for Education Conference!

2014 Postcard pg 1 lgYou’ve saved the date (we hope) – February 7-9, 2014…now you can save the bucks!  Early-bird registration is open for our 2014 Education Conference and if you register now you get the added benefit of being able to take the tax deduction in this year.  It’s a win-win!

As usual, we’ve got a great line-up of speakers and timely topics.  We’ll be featuring more about them in the upcoming days, but to start here’s a little ‘teaser’ from guest speaker, Sue Donnelly, AICI CIP, about her class “Putting the ‘I’ into Image.” (If you haven’t yet met Sue, you’re in for a treat – her classes (and she’s teaching two at our Conference) are so inspiring!)
