If you’re planning on attending our Education Conference, February 26-28, why not add on a day or two before or after to explore the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area? There is so much to see and so, in addition to admiring the beautiful scenery (and of course, shopping!)
Here are a few on-line resources to spark your imagination (on most of these, you should keep checking back for updates closer to the event.) Of course, your Chapter Board of Directors is always available to answer any questions you might have. We hope to see you in February!
Do you have a product or service that can benefit your fellow image consultants? We have two opportunities for you to spread the word about your business at our upcoming Education Conference in February.
Vendor Tables Friday, January 26 During Conference Social 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
This was a big hit last year at Conference. Approximately 10 vendors shared their products and services with Conference attendees during the social/networking event. Everyone enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres, mingled and chatted with their colleagues, and learned about new offerings in jewelry, accessories, client management systems and marketing. For only $100, you’ll be able to display your goods or services on the provided table, plus you’ll be given the opportunity to say a few words about your business to the Conference attendees at the close of Friday’s program, prior to the start of the social at 6:00.
Conference Goodie Bags Distributed to all Conference Attendees
Who doesn’t love to get a goodie bag at Conference? This is a free opportunity for you to provide your colleagues with information about your goods or services. Whether it’s a product sample (face cream? lipstick? fountain pen?) or another little goody attached to your business card or flyer (chocolate kiss? breath mints? or…?), your business will be sure to be noticed by everyone who attends Conference.
If you have a friend in a field that could benefit your fellow image consultants (hair styling, dermatology, website building, etc.), please tell them about this great opportunity. This is not restricted to AICI members.
All items (approximately 50 total) must be to our coordinator no later than February 19.
For information and/or to sign up for either or both of these programs, please contact:
The AICI San Francisco Bay Area Chapter received an award at the 2015 AICI International Conference for it’s excellence in education with our annual Education Conference. This three-day event attracts presenters and consultants from around the country (and sometimes internationally), where they can learn and network with their fellow professionals in a close-knit setting. Many of the sessions are CEU’d by AICI, which is helpful for those who are accumulating credits for their certification renewal.
Special thanks to long-time VP’s of our Education Conference, Marjory DeRoeck AICI CIP and Carolyn Woodworth AICI FLC, who led this Conference and helped assure its high level of excellence throughout the years. The 2016 Conference is spearheaded by two of our newer Chapter members, Carol Parker Walsh and Connie Bozant, who are already following in the footsteps of their predecessors and hard at work preparing for another great year. Dates for the 2016 Conference are February 26-28; visit our dedicated page on our Chapter website for additional details as they become finalized.
Accepting the Education Award for the Chapter at the International Conference were Elena Daciuk, Immediate Past President, and Danean Gallaher, 2015-2016 Chapter President.
If you’re one of the lucky ones coming to our Education Conference on February 6-8, you may already be thinking about what outfits you want to put together (who are we kidding – of course you are!) This is one time where making do with a carry-on isn’t all that important. In fact, we recommend you pack an extra suitcase and help a worthy cause at the same time.
We’re once again asking all attendees to help support Wardrobe for Opportunity (WFO), a charity that helps women and men re-entering the work force by providing them with professional attire that will help them shine on their interviews and at work. WFO helps their clients choose outfits for their interviews, dressing them from head-to-toe, including scarves/ties, necklaces, blouses, suits, pants, and shoes. Specifically we will be collecting all types of new and gently used accessoriesand shoes. You can clean out your closets and help a worthy cause at the same time!
Some criteria when selecting items for donation are:
Does your item help to set someone up for success on the interview or for a job?
Can this item be worn by another person right away?
Will someone feel more confident when wearing this?
We’ll be accepting the following items (clean, undamaged and showing no untoward signs of wear) during Conference:
ties…unopened hosiery and socks…watches
You’ll get a receipt for your donations, but even more you’ll get the inner reward of helping men and women who will truly value those items that are languishing in your closet. So go ahead – pack that extra suitcase guilt-free!
It’s one of the favorite events in our Chapter – talking the trends. We’ll be showing (one time only!) the excellent video prepared by New York’s Fashion Group International (FGI) on Spring Trends 2015 and then digesting and adding our own commentary and analysis to what we’ve just seen. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to join in the conversation.
If you’re attending our 2015 Education Conference that weekend, it will be so easy to stay on in the afternoon for this fun and informative event (at a reduced rate for Conference attendees – only $20!) If you can’t make it to the whole Conference weekend, why not register for the Sunday morning workshop and then stay on for the Trend Talk? (FYI: both events have separate registrations.)
Be prepared for what Spring has in store(s) for us (pun intended) and connect with your colleagues at the same time!
There’s still a few days to take advantage of our all new 50-50 Payment Plan for our 2015 Education Conference. Between now and December 4, you can register for our Chapter Conference, February 6-8, 2015, and opt to pay 50% now and 50% on January 16. It’s ideal if you’d like to spread the tax consequences over two years, or would just like a little less financial obligation at this time of year when our purse-strings have so many tugs on them.
We’ve got a great line-up of speakers, which you can check out on our Education Conference page here. Plus the ever popular Friday night social hour is always a great time to reconnect with colleagues, new and long-time.
We look forward to seeing you at our 2015 Education Conference!
Do you have a product or service that could benefit your fellow image consultants? Whether it’s something to help them in their day-to-day business or something they could offer to their clients, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to showcase it during the Conference Social. Conference attendees will be mingling, sipping and snacking as they relax at the end of the first day of Conference – what better time to share your products and services with them in an informal environment!

When it comes to referrals, we all know that you just can’t beat word-of-mouth. That’s why we’re happy to share comments from others who have attended presentations by Sue Donnelly, one of the speakers at our Annual Education Conference, February 7-9. If you’ve already registered for Conference, this will give you a pat on the back that you’ve made a good choice. If you’re still on the fence, you may just want to click on this link and get signed up now!
“Inspirational Easy, relaxed presentation – like her style and the content offered a refreshingly new perspective – of great value, being a straight down the middle ( score of 12) right/ left brained woman.”
“Thanks for a very refreshing speaker in Sue Donnelly- I was inspired and enthralled by her session.
It certainly gave me the confidence to continue to use my right brain creativity for myself, in the way I shop, present my services to others and how I deliver consultations to customers.“
“I found her entertaining (that always helps), she knew her business and gave a new slant to the consultation format. Some good new ideas. Definitely food for thought.”
Maybe you’d like to hear a bit more about one of Sue’s presentations in her own words. Enjoy!
