Chapter Awards word collage

In any venture, it’s the commitment and contribution of the people that make things happen.  The AICI SFBA Chapter has been an example of commitment and contribution from its inception, as the founding Chapter of AICI.

Two awards were given at this year’s annual Installation event that recognize significant member commitment and contribution over the past year to the Chapter: Chapter Rising Star and Chapter Member of the Year.

Rising Star

Our 2015-2015 Rising Star is incoming-President Carol Parker Walsh. a well-deserving recipient of the award. The Rising Star award is given to a Chapter member who has been a member for four years or less, and has provided significant contribution to the Chapter as a new member.

Carol joined our chapter November 14, 2014; seven months later she volunteered to be Co-VP of Education (not a position for the faint of heart!) She thought of creative and new ideas for the Board to try and also volunteered to get them done. She lives out-of-state which could have created some challenges, but never seemed to affect her. And, now she has volunteered to step up into this year’s Chapter President position.

In addition,  Carol is a #1 Best Selling Author, and has had guest appearances on CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX channels. She is one of 20 licensed Fashion Feng Shui practitioners in the US, writes a monthly column for a Business Journal, and is a trained classical singer.

Carol’s business is Evolve Image Consulting. Congratulations to our Chapter Rising Star – Carol Parker Walsh!

Member of the Year

The Chapter Member of the Year award is given to a member who has acted above and beyond in their capacity as a Chapter member, has been an inspiration to others, and has achieved extraordinary results in AICI.

Our 2015-2016 Chapter Member of the Year is Elena Daciuk, a 5-year member of the Chapter and Board of Directors. In fact, Elena was attending Chapter events even before becoming a member.

She has been truly dedicated, passionate, and very hard working during her years of service, always willing to go the extra mile in everything she does. Elena has held a strong belief in this organization and what it can offer its members.

This past year she not only held one position on the Chapter Board, but THREE of them: Treasurer, Co-VP of Programs, Immediate Past President.

Elena’s business is Styling Fabulous. Congratulations to our Chapter Member of the Year – Elena Daciuk!

San Francisco Education Conference Receives International Award

award of excellence 2013 screen shot

The AICI San Francisco Bay Area Chapter received an award at the 2015 AICI International Conference for it’s excellence in education with our annual Education Conference. This three-day event attracts presenters and consultants from around the country (and sometimes internationally), where they can learn and network with their fellow professionals in a close-knit setting. Many of the sessions are CEU’d by AICI, which is helpful for those who are accumulating credits for their certification renewal.

Special thanks to long-time VP’s of our Education Conference, Marjory DeRoeck AICI CIP and Carolyn Woodworth AICI FLC, who led this Conference and helped assure its high level of excellence throughout the years. The 2016 Conference is spearheaded by two of our newer Chapter members, Carol Parker Walsh and Connie Bozant, who are already following in the footsteps of their predecessors and hard at work preparing for another great year. Dates for the 2016 Conference are February 26-28; visit our dedicated page on our Chapter website for additional details as they become finalized.

Accepting the Education Award for the Chapter at the International Conference were Elena Daciuk, Immediate Past President, and Danean Gallaher, 2015-2016 Chapter President.

Susan lives in Vashon, WA where she runs her image consultant business, Style With Susan. Congratulations on a job well done, Susan!

Chapter Awards for Commitment and Contribution

Chapter Awards word collageIn any venture, it’s the commitment and contribution of the people that make things happen.  It’s especially true in a volunteer organization, because those qualities are freely given.  The AICI SFBA Chapter has been an example of commitment and contribution from its inception, as the founding Chapter of AICI.  Our early leaders led the way by demonstrating their commitment to the profession of image consulting, and by their personal contributions to ensuring the success of the organization.

Two awards were given at this year’s annual Installation event that recognize significant member commitment and contribution over the past year to the Chapter: Chapter Member of the Year and Chapter Rising Star.

Chapter Rising Star

This year’s recipient is our new Chapter President, Elena Daciuk.  Elena has been a member of the Chapter for two years (the criteria is for membership 4 years or less) and has contributed significantly to the Chapter, not only since she’s been a member but also in her support of Chapter events even before she was a member. She has served on the Board since Day One of her membership, serving as Chapter Treasurer, and has helped the Chapter become more fiscally sound by reducing our expenses and by continually encouraging us to break even on the events we hold.  This is in addition to her willingness to help in whatever capacity is needed, whether helping in building our social media presence, or setting up and taking down chairs at events. The Chapter is grateful to Elena for her enthusiastic support of our organization and our profession, and looks forward to her coming year as President. Elena is owner of Styling Fabulous, wardrobe and image consultancy, as well as Styling Fabulous Consignment Boutique, an on-line upscale consignment store.

Elena is presented the Rising Star award by Board member, Adena DiTonno, who nominated her for the award.

Chapter Member of the Year

The Chapter Member of the Year award stands for the dedication, commitment, hard work, and heart and soul a member puts into the organization. Adena DiTonno is the recipient of this year’s award for the countless hours of her time and heart given to our organization. She has served asTtreasurer, President, and Immediate Past President.  Over the past year as she has helped and gone above and beyond to help plan all chapter programs, in the absence of a VP of Programs, wrote the blogs for the Chapter’s social media, managed the chapter website, helped create fun valuable content for Facebook daily, and created multiple videos to highlight our different chapter events. The Chapter thanks Adena for her contributions throughout the past year.  Adena is owner of adenaDesigns, a wardrobe and image consultancy.

Congratulations to Eva Koeck-Eripek – New CIM!

EvaWe’re so very pleased to be able to congratulate the newest Certified Image Master in AICI – and she is a member of our Chapter:  Eva Koeck-Eripek AICI CIM!  This is a very prestigious achievement (there are only 10 in the entire AICI organization, four of which are in our Chapter.) The CIM requires more than 2000 hours of full-time consulting in the profession, as well as the development of original programs and systems and serving in leadership capacity at the International level.  (The full requirements can be found on the AICI website.)  This achievement shows clients, colleagues, and the media that the consultant has achieved the highest level certification, proving that he/she is an exceptional, dedicated consultant, having a recognized brand in the industry and owning a successful image business.

Eva Koeck-Eripek, AICI CIM has been an Image Consultant for over 25 years and is the CEO of Image Institut Austria. She is an educator of more than 600 Image Consultants and president of the Association for Image Consulting Austria. She works as a speaker and trainer for successful people and companies in Europe. For 11 years she has had  her own Styling Show on TV and gives more than 300 speeches and seminars every year. Eva is 2012 IMMIE Award Winner.

Congratulations to Eva on this outstanding achievement!

Chapter Members Receive Awards at Installation Event

The Chapter was pleased to recognize four members with awards for their service to the organization this year.  Two members – Bernie Burson, AICI FLC, and Coralyn Lundell, AICI CIP, previously received their awards at the AICI International Conference in Arizona in May.  Bernie received the Award of Excellence-Participation/Commitment for her work with the International website, newsletter and Conference program, and Coralyn received the Distinguished Service Award commemorating her 30 years of service as a founding member of the organization.  (We previously announced these awards here.) We were pleased to also recognize these two ladies at our Installation event on July 17.

In addition, Carolyn Woodworth, AICI FLC, presented Marjory DeRoeck, AICI CIP, our Chapter Member of the Year award for her many years of service to the both the Chapter and to the International organization.  (We previously announced Marjory’s award here.) Marjory was quite surprised by the very special awards that her good friend and colleague, Carolyn, had put together for her on behalf of the Chapter.  After all, who wouldn’t love a glass slipper?!

Carrie Rising StarThe Chapter also recognized Carrie LaShell, AICI FLC, as the Chapter Rising Star of the Year.  This award is given to a member of 4 years or less who has provided outstanding service to the Chapter.  This award is well-deserved for Carrie, as she has worked hard for the Chapter in so many ways since Day 1 of her membership. Carrie has served for two years as Co-VP Programs and this past year as President-Elect; she has stepped up to fill in wherever needed, with a cheerful, can-do attitude, and a commitment to the organization that is to be admired.  Carrie was surprised to hear her name called, and we were happy to be able to honor her with this well-deserved award.

Congratulations to our 2013 Chapter Member of the Year

We are so pleased to announce that Marjory DeRoeck, AICI CIP, was awarded the 2013 AICI SFBA Chapter Member of the Year at the AICI International Conference in Glendale, AZ.  Of course, this comes as no surprise to our membership because they/we were the ones who voted for her to receive this very deserving award.

Marjory has served on the AICI SFBA Board of Directors for many years and as President twice.  She has served as Co-VP of Education Days for 4+ years, and has been Co-Chairman of the CIP Certification Committee at the International level, having served on that committee at least 4 years. Marjory is a mentor to many image consultants and a valuable leader in the Chapter, in addition to being a warm and fun-loving person.

Marjory was nominated for the award by her business partner, Carolyn Woodworth, of The Image Studio.  Marjory and Carolyn have built a very successful image consulting business in Lafayette, where they provide color and style analysis, makeup updates, closet and wardrobe evaluation, hair services, as well as display of the Carlisle clothing line.

Our Chapter congratulates Marjory on this recognition at the International level for her many contributions.
