Now who doesn’t love beautiful jewelry?! Some of the most beautiful jewels in the world are made by the house of Bulgari, and Chapter members and guests recently got to experience them up close and personal at our docent-lead tour at the DeYoung Museum. (While you can reserve a spot in a docent tour for yourself, ours is very special because we are admitted to the Museum before it is open to the general public, so we’re able to truly get close to the exhibit without fighting the crowds. Thanks to Pat Gray for organizing this for our Chapter!)
From the unbelievable emeralds given to Elizabeth Taylor by both Eddie Fisher and Richard Burton (and bought back by the house of Bulgari to add to their permanent collection), to the unusual, more modern pieces loaned to the exhibit by actress Jennifer Tilly…it was a priceless exhibit that ‘wowed’ at every turn.
Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photographs of the jewels themselves, but suffice to say, we were ‘oooh-ing’ and ‘aaah-ing’ every step of the way. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the morning!
